Aiesec Cultural Night

Tuesday evening was the aiesec cultural night. We ought to wear traditionally, to my dismay, many of them didn't really wear culturally, I felt so overdress. =X I borrowed the baju kurung from andrew's friend. It's so long, I had to lift up the skirt when I'm walking to prevent tripping over. haha

The night started with country presentation by the exchange participants, dinesh is going to ukraine, another one is going to africa i think, and there were 2 aiesec alumni who shared their experiences of exchange, ahh, make me so wanna go to china for exchange, haha.

After the sharing, we had cultural quizzes. I'm glad my group didn't win, =P. Coz' you know what, the grand prize turned out to be 'multicultural' meat, HAHAH, funnnnnyyyy right. It's assorted raw meat with maybe sausages bacon and stuff, lol.

La Galette de France

Bonjour! Comment cava?

This french pastry shop is reallllyyyyy niceeeee! I remembered peiwen told me before that the croissant is nice. I googled it and a lot of people talked about how good the almond croissant is. So I decided to buy one too and try out.

It's so satisfying even just a few bites. Soft crispy croissant with some custard in the middle top with almonds. Other cakes and little tarts are so inviting but expensive!

Little Caesar's Pizza

Wednesday night - St George's acoustic concert

In short, I think a lot of people here are musically talented and almost everyone could sing and play the guitar, so envious. Most of them compose their own songs.

Friday noon-

Meet up with peiwen in subiaco, she got the buy one free one gelato coupon, wheee. So we went to il gelato and ordered, I had choc bacio; she had tiramisu, mmm. =D Then we proceed to woolies, coles and the subi market to buy some groceries, I bought 5 kiwis for 2 dollars! And bought coffee and muesli bars for my exam snacks.

with her gelato

Fri night, last cell meeting of this sem. =( So we had little caesar's pizza in leedersville, famous shop and packed with people, we waited kinda long to have the food served.

Inside little caesar's

The 3 main pizzas and one dessert pizza, slurpsss. Each of us paid 9 dollars, kinda alright.

After dinner, back to dexter's house for the last cell meeting.3 person lost in the icebreaker game. They are punished to eat salt, sugar and sauce.

Look at yeeling's disgusted face by the sauce, I have no idea what they mixed, hah
And yihlim with her tablespoon of raw sugar

love-paper-sticky notes for us to write for one another

Lunch today(sat) was at nandos. Peiwen's coupon with buy 1 quarter chicken free 1 quarter chicken, so each of us only paid 3.50, worth it eh? =]

Had pizzas for 2 days in a row. Sat night had broadway pizza, peiwen's coupon again, 25 % discount. =D

Things to do:
1. Finance online quizzes
2.Econ tute notes
3. Apps
4. Finals in 2 weeks? *gasp*

Wyalkatchem trip

Saturday early morning I went to wyalkatchem short form wylie for a mentoring program under st georges, it's 3 hours away from perth, a rural place. There is no network at all, and it's uber cold. Basically just spent time with the kids there and have some fun activities. I don't have a mentee and doesn't wish to have one at that point of time and now I regret, but ohwells, what done is done, haha.

First thing after we reached was doing mosaic/gardening. The mosaic's preparations were smashing new tiles and plate. =X and fill the empty big tyre with sand as foundation. After that create a picture with all the broken pieces of tiles. It was rather pretty.

Then we had some ball games and roller skating, I suck at it big time. =( I can't even balance and fell a few times, my back so pain, tsk tsk. The kids are all good in lotsa sports activities, feel so intimidated being a sports dummy.

BIG chess pieces to play

9 months old joey! so cute!! One of the kids' mum keep it as pet

me with shoko's big coat and the trial mosaic

Then we walked to wylie recreation centre. Some of them played soccer, I just watch, don't wanna embarrass myself in the field, lol.

eric, shoko and andrew

shoko and me

At night had bbq as dinner

We slept at the rec centre with mats on the floor, it was super ultimately cold that i shivered half of the night and not having proper sleep though I had 4 layers and 1 blanket on me.

Day 2

Don't really have any activities going on, just waiting for the kids to have hockey match in the afternoon.

passing time in the playground

shoko on the fence

kids playing hockey

I like how vast and wide the land is in the outskirts! So much landddd!

On the way back

I was amazed at how a particular super quiet boy who don't dare to speak up smiles when playing rollerskate and other games it was a good sight to see.

I was also amazed that a girl actually helped me up when i fell during roller skate and told me what to do. It was nice of her. :)

The rural area is seriously a dead city, so much land with so little people, and so far from major cities, they really lack of facilities. Nevertheless, it was a really peaceful place if you wanna escape all the hustle in the city.

Bye bye wylie.

Cell Group - Pyjamas theme

So every fri night is the cell group, the special thing about this week's was that it had a theme - pyjamas night. Everyone SHOULD wear pyjamas for cell, but gerald was wearing jeans!! grr, not abiding the theme, hah.
