Last 3 weeks in Perth!

I still have 2 more heavy papers to go, Banking Theory Practice & Economics of Money, Banking and Financial Markets. Procrastinate a bit. So long since I wrote.

Awesome semester actually despite the load of units and work. Enjoyed the new cell group lots, knew quite a few new people. Did fun stuff together.

It'll be sad to leave all of them to go to a whole new environment and study by myself. These 3 weeks will be super precious! Butttt. . . I have so many things after exams to deal with, seriously, A LOT.

Yea, I finally got my University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign letter. That means enrolment from 21 Nov, seeking unit approvals from UWA, visa, flights, shipping my 2.5 years worth of life back to Malaysia, lots of exchange paperwork, travel insurance, etc etc. It's overwhelming.

Grateful to be able to go on exchange, yet it's an absurdly tedious process to withstand.

Yay, riding a horse by myself! No trainer leading your horse. We have to learn some methods to turn left/right, stop the horse etc. It lasted an hour, scary experience at one point, my face almost got damaged, true story, no exagerration as the horse decided to go astray the normal path. But was blessed enough to just get cuts on my lips and forehead.

When Would a Mediocre Shine?

Randoms :

Recently results are out, 2 units are not satisfactory, the other 3 are alright, not as fantastic as those people who can get straight HDs. Just a thought, how can a mediocre like me since like forever, can breakthrough and be as smart as others?

People might say, you can do better, or, you've done your best, or results is not everything. I do agree to all statements, yes results are just a fraction of your life, but it seems that, I don't have an area, which i am specifically good at, for others, they might be mediocre academically, but they excel in piano/guitar/violin/dance/sing/drawing/sports etc etc. I do not have any of those artsy talents.

I am definitely envious of people with these criteria. Then we often heard, don't need to always compare. Sounds familiar, eh? Yet, I would want to keep up to the standards that the world as a whole set, eg. you have good merits, you'll succeed. I think around 2 years back, I saw a video about a graduate from US giving an inspiring speech, it was about 'average is the new exceptional'.

However, in this society made of all sorts of hierarchies, merit based 'cast system' and so forth, would a mediocre ever be appreciated or feeling good when surrounded by elites?

On a side note, God should be the centre of our lives, not what we do, what we achieve and what we have. It is still a barrier for people like me to let go the earthly measures and just focus on Him.

I still need to learn how to. I am not super disheartened, or grieving over it, it is just that being a mediocre, is not good enough.

Throughout the easter camp, didn't play any games since I sprained my foot before camp, bad timinggg. Nevertheless, the camp was still awesome with invited pastors and worship sessions. :)

Hillsong one day conference! It's beyond awesome!! The speakers, hillsong united band, messages, sermons were overwhelming and interesting. It started at 10am and ended at 945 10pm with breaks in between.

3 more weeks to the end of semester. Then, exams. It's fast isn't it. And I will be done and proceed to my 3rd year in Aug!

Now, just lots of catching up, lectures, tutorials, and readingssss.

On the day I felt really lethargic, restless thinking about the workload coming up in uni. At night, dinner with the church kawans and temporary threw away the thought of uni work, for some moment.

Vietnamese food @ Vu's restaurant, South Perth. It was actually not bad, at least the internet reviews are accurate. But the place is like hidden. Eat eat talk talk.

And i really thought it's time to head home since we finished the dinner and cake. Peiwen said she got something to give me so I followed to her room. I was wondering why mao is still inside the car but didn't think much.

Peiwen insisted I opened the pressie so I opened layers after layers of newspapers, hahahah, it's like never ending. Tada! A very cute planner and earrings, inside the planner so colourful and cute, I don't feel like using it, too nice to be written! hehe. Thankewww peiwen :D

Then okay, after taking the pressie I'm going back. But peiwen followed me out, I thought she just wanna sent me to the door. Then I saw mao using his HTC phone stand by and thought something was fishy and bisha boom! Water boms! I'm attacked and wet, haha. The cell peeps were hiding behind ivan's car! After that whipcream time! lol. My face and hair was so ugly and smell of cream. But they prepared towel and water for angel and me, how thoughtful :P

After the funs, they presented me with 3 pressies, i was still skeptical if there's tricks inside the paper coz' again it's layers and layers of papers, haha.

Unwrapped them all and kettle! ( I need this, was going to buy but haven't really go to the city and search for it ), devotional book! ( 90-day, a good way to learn more about God =D), pink ipod shuffle! ( first mp3/apple product in my entire life too, haha) I feel too loved! :)

26th March -Saturday

Haven't meet up together for a longgggg time with the girls. Previous sems we usually meet up in week 1 coz' uni has not been as busy as this year I guess. All of us are doing year 2 year 3 units, tough times ahead. :X But still happy having to meet them up for a meal. :D

Joey picked me and grace up, off we went to edosushi @ Subiaco. Ordered wasabi creamy rice, haha, it was interesting but I don't fancy wasabi much, the spicyness really got into my nose. But still thanks to dearrie pw for the treat. :P

Next: to San Churros. Mui mui and I share the same day, apparently the date 328 is so common that I share birthdays with many people. As usual mui mui like to do funky faces, hah! Thanks to peiwen, joey, gracey and yihui for the cake and churros! :D Yums. [ fattening :P ]

In the evening, celebrate with some college mates. I share the same birthday as debbie also.

Aww they gave me koko black chocolate drink! The shop just recently opened in claremont, before that it was only available in melbourne! I just went with them the other day to drink the belgium hot choc *mmmmm* They too gave me dotti's gift card, hehehe, expire one year later, I got much time to slowly shop some clothes there, wheeee! Blake gave me lindt chocs, sooooo gooood, the middle soft choc just melt in your mouth. I ate it almost everyday since he gave it to me. Ooops. And mary gave me a card too! =D

After that, we went for a late dinner at Hawkers @ Northbridge. Nice asian food! Marmite chicken, the best!

Outside waiting to dine in Hawkers, we waited 30mins +. While waiting, I'm addicted to harman's iphone angry bird game. :P

After dinner, karaoke @ Utopia. My first karaoke session in my entire life, and I broke the barrier of being shy. =P It was pretty fun, i shall try out malaysia's one when I get back.

27th March Night

Another college mates session + Dilys. :)

We walked to Ti Amo at hampden road for its italian food. Ordered 3 dishes and share among 5. I personally think it's just alright, but the chicken and spaghetti was good and in a humongous portion.

Desserts were reallly tasty though! Cheese cake, chocolate cake! That's andrew and kim on the right and adrian on the left.
